Who knows why, but for some reason, Rackspace cloud hosting has very weird session handling with Flash. Create a directory at the same level as your_site.com called "sessions". i had the same problem with you.. You could pause 10 seconds, and retry the upload.
So as far as I see now, there is no way to get at the http response body in case of error.
